Salem Christian School Girls Dress Code
At Salem Christian School, it is our belief that the physical appearance of our students is an essential element in developing personal responsibility. All Salem students, Preschool-Grade 12, are required to abide by our school dress code. Approved clothing is to be worn each school day unless a special dress day has been designated. Dress code applies to all school events unless indicated otherwise by the administration. No dress code is all-inclusive; therefore, clothing may be deemed inappropriate at the discretion of faculty and administration. The school reserves the right to identify styles or colors of clothing as disruptive to the educational setting.
- Sleeved blouses or shirts with collars, i.e., banded collar shirts, crew neck collared, pullover top with finished collar, turtleneck, mock turtleneck, polo shirt.
- Writing restricted to emblem or logo on left front.
- Clean, neat sweatshirts may be worn over primary shirt, with writing restricted as above.
- Hooded sweatshirts may be worn to and from school and in outdoor gym classes, but are not otherwise appropriate. Light weight pullover hoodies may be worn.
- Avoid tee shirts (plain or graphic), sleeveless tops, and sheer or tight-fitting shirts.
- Must come within 1” above the knee when standing or sitting. Avoid tight fitting skirts or dresses.
- Casual pants or slacks are acceptable. Avoid low rise and/or tight fitting pants or slacks.
- Stretch pants or tights may be worn under proper length skirt or dress.
- Avoid denim jeans, Capri pants, sweat pants, athletic wear, and shorts.
- Clean neat sneakers, casual shoes and dress shoes or casual sandals with backstraps may be worn.
- AVOID flip-flops.
