History:
Salem Christian School was founded in 1979 as an educational
ministry of Salem Bible Church. Located in Macungie, in
Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley region, its primary purpose is to
assist Christian parents in their divinely appointed responsibility to
raise their children “in the nurture and admonition of the Lord."
(Ephesians 6:4)
Deomographics:
The student body is drawn from various area churches and from twelve
local school districts located in Berks, Lehigh, and Montgomery Counties.
Enrollment:
Salem is a non-profit (501(c)3), co-educational, non-denominational
Christian school for Preschool through Senior High with an enrollment of
200 students. We provide a biblically integrated, Christ-centered
educational program which stresses the mastery of foundational
educational skills.
Class Size & Facilities:
Salem’s average class size is 14 students, which provides a favorable student/teacher ratio.
Our professional faculty is comprised of experienced educators with 13 years on average of teaching experience and includes several with advanced degrees as well as several alumni.
Campus & Facilities:
Our campus is located on 5 acres in Macungie, PA, and the school is housed in the facilities of Salem Bible Church. While situated in a scenic rural location, we are ideally located within an easy drive of the Lehigh Valley area.
College Placement:
Approximately 89% of Salem graduates continue their education at colleges, universities, and other vocational institutions nationwide. The rigorous academic program at Salem is well known and respected by many colleges, and most students are accepted into the first college of their choice.
Technology:
Teachers regularly use technology in a wide variety of ways to enhance their classes and our students’ learning. Students from Grade 1 up have access to our up-to-date computer lab for classes ranging from basic computer usage to advanced courses at the High School level.
Athletics:
Salem offers competitive team sports for a variety of abilities, beginning in Middle School. The comprehensive program includes soccer, volleyball, basketball, and baseball, as well as track and field. Over the years, the teams have produced league championships in all areas of participation.
Christian Ministry:
Biblical principles and the Christian worldview are integrated throughout all the school’s programs and courses of study. Students have opportunities to minister to others and to serve in many ways through such programs as the Puppet Pals, missions trips, and various service and mission-related projects.
