Athletic Fee Changes for 2018-2019
February 1, 2018 enrollment opens. 2018-2019 tuition rates will be attached to next week’s weekly update. Enrollment fee will be the same at $200 per family. Be sure to look for them. Don’t forget that tuition assistance needs to be applied for each year.
There is one change beginning next school year. The athletic fee (that has not changed in decades) will be $50 per sport with no family cap. The reason for the change is that PIAA is requiring athletic trainers and game officials costs have risen. This increase is still far less than comparable schools and does not cover the full costs. The fee will be applied to your FACTS account at the beginning of each season with a due date of the next cycle.
Speech Meet
The ACSI Speech Meet will be held again this year on Friday, March 16th at Lehigh Christian Academy in Allentown. Our first through fifth grade students have the opportunity to participate in this event. The ACSI Speech Meet encourages effective speech in an audience situation while helping students develop techniques to speak audibly, articulately, expressively, and with poise and confidence. We are excited to be a part of this opportunity this year.
How we are preparing your student for this opportunity:
Each student in grades 1st through 5th will be required to memorize
and recite a passage to their class.  Mrs. Parker will be emailing a letter for your student’s passage for memorization due by January 30. The
teachers will be working with the students to develop techniques
for good communication and speaking skills. In addition to this,
students will need to work on their passage at home.
If after this experience your child has an interest in participating in this year’s Speech Meet you will need to do the following:
    Choose a category: Bible Memorization, Poetry (for all grades);
Fable and Folklore (grades 2-4); Dramatic Bible Prose, Patriotic
Oration, Original Speech (grade 5)
***ACSI Speech Samplers will be available
Please email if your child is interested in
participating by Monday, February 5.
More details and information will be given when a response is received.
Semester Grade Reports
The semester ended today. And, we have high school finals today and Friday. Therefore, new semester courses begin on Monday, January 21, 2018. Semester grade reports will be released Wednesday, January 23, 2018.
Illness Prevention
This is the season for flu and other illnesses. According to news reports, this season is particularly virulent. Therefore, please keep your child home if they are ill. We do our best to regularly clean the desks, door knobs, and other areas of common touching. Additionally, we remind the students to wash their hands often and thoroughly. However much we try to address the spread, the best way is to stay home and not infect others.
We understand the need for sick days. If the student is sick, send in a note to the office. If they have more than 10 days out, then a doctor’s excuse is necessary. If your child has had a fever they should be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. Thank you for your assistance in keeping the school healthy.
